Peterborough and the Kawarthas Association of REALTORS®(PKAR) is pleased to present $8785.96 to their 2020 selected charity The Mount Community Centre on behalf on the Ontario REALTORSCare® Foundation. The funds were raised by PKAR’s 600+ members through various fundraising efforts in 2020.
“The Mount Community Centre is delighted to accept this generous donation from PKAR, which directly supports the construction of affordable housing in Peterborough” remarked Andi van Koeverden, Director of Strategic Advancement at The Mount Community Centre. “This year has been challenging for everyone, and this tremendous gift from PKAR certainly helps us end 2020 on positive note!”
“I am so proud of our membership for rallying together this year to continue our fundraising efforts, regardless of the hurdles presented by COVID-19” says Chiarina Payne, PKAR President. “Although we were unable to host in-person events, the dedication of our membership to our selected charity was not diminished. Not only am I happy to present these funds to The Mount, which we know will go a long way to help our community, I am also so pleased to see the unity in our membership during such a challenging time”.
Earlier in the year, PKAR was also able to facilitate the allocation of $4580 to The Mount Community Centre, through the Ontario REALTORSCare® Foundation, to help offset the challenges experienced because of COVID-19.
PKAR continues to adapt new approaches to their fundraising efforts as we continue to work through the COVID-19 pandemic, with hopes to resume in-person fundraising efforts at the appropriate time, at the advisement of both the Provincial and Federal guidelines surrounding COVID-19.
