Communities We Serve

PKAR is a non-profit trade organization that represents the “Voice for Real Estate” in Peterborough and the Kawarthas and beyond. Our membership stretches from Apsley, Bancroft and Lakefield in the North to Norwood and Havelock in the East, Millbrook and Cavan in the South and as far away as Toronto. Established in 1949, PKAR now represents over 800+ members across Central Ontario.

Asphodel-Norwood

Norwood | Westwood

The Township of Asphodel-Norwood is a growing rural community that provides an attractive blend of rural, village, and cottage living to over 4,000 residents who call the municipality home. Nestled within 160 square kilometres, the Township encompasses a good selection of schools, a NHL sized ice surface with an enthusiastic hockey and figure skating community, thriving community groups, picturesque parks including a new splash pad, and popular resorts along the Trent River.

Bancroft is located in the heart of Ontario, tucked away from the bustle of the big city but close enough to visit. Central to several mid-sized cities and halfway between Toronto and Ottawa, Bancroft offers the tranquility of the Canadian Shield with all the amenities of a modern community. Built alongside the York River in the mid-1800s, Bancroft sits at the northern tip of Hastings County and the southern end of Algonquin Park.

Douro-Dummer

Welcome to the Township of Douro-Dummer! Our township is a quaint rural community comprised of small and large businesses, farmlands, beautiful lakes and rivers, parks, walking trails, and recreational opportunities. Located just east of Peterborough, the township is home to about 7600 people in an area of just under 460km.

Havelock-Belmont-Methuen

Havelock-Belmont-Methuen is a charming rural community located at the southeast reaches of Peterborough County. It is a scenic community suited to outdoor recreation with an abundance of lakes, rivers and trails. There are a variety of businesses with investment opportunities for commercial and industrial development.

Township of North Kawartha

We support a healthy community with a lifestyle and economy that sustains the natural environment and heritage of North Kawartha.

North Kawartha offers beaches, parks and green spaces, as well as year-round recreational programs and facilities, including a seasonal indoor ice surface. The many area attractions also include snowmobile, skiing and hiking trails. All of which make North Kawartha a very popular tourist destination.

Today, many cottagers have become permanent residents, contributing year-round to the recreational and cultural activities that enrich community life.
